Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The city crime branch’s special investigation team (SIT) arrested a 55-year-old man named Subhash Pal from his residence as he was associated with the gang involved in securing bail using a fake loan document, said a police officer on Sunday.
Pal had been absconding for the past three years. So far, 38 accused have been arrested in this case.
This action was taken on the directives of police commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh, who recently instructed a crackdown on fraud-related crimes in the Indore Commissionerate.
Additional DCP (crime) Rajesh Dandotiya said that Pal, a resident of Kalindi Gold, was allegedly involved in securing bail using forged loan documents.
Man arrested for rape on false promise of marriage
A man was arrested for allegedly raping a woman on the promise of marriage in the Annapurna area on Sunday. Annapurna police station in charge Ajay Nair informed the Free Press that the man Vijendra Verma allegedly entered a sexual relationship with the woman by falsely promising marriage.
Later, he refused to marry her. The woman approached the police station where a rape case was registered against the accused and he was arrested.
The woman informed the police that she had met Vijendra about a year ago. They began meeting frequently. In February this year, the accused called her and asked her to meet him, saying it had been a long time since they last saw each other. When they met, he reportedly took her to a hotel on Kesarbagh Road, where he had sex with her after promising marriage.
