Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) clarified the viral incident between Rinku Singh and Kuldeep Yadav that sparked plenty of buzz on social media following the IPL 2025 clash on Tuesday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. By posting a few pictures of them together, they captioned the post, 'Media (𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘪) vs (𝘥𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘯 𝘬𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘤𝘩 𝘬𝘢) Reality!'
In a video that went viral on social media, Delhi Capitals' left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav was seen slapping Rinku twice as players of both sides were having a casual chat after the game. t was unclear what caused the incident but the matter seemed slightly serious as players of both sides were having a conversation after the match.
Rinku, the designated finisher for the Knight Riders made a crucial contribution to the cause by making an invaluable 36 off 25 deliveries, propelling Kolkata to 204/9. By contrast, Kuldeep had a rare off day with the ball, bagging figures of 3-0-27-0.
"There were some miscalculations and soft dismissals" - Axar Patel
With the Capitals falling 14 runs short and succumbing to their third defeat in four matches at home, Capitals skipper Axar Patel rued giving away too many runs on the field and felt luck also went against them.
"The way we bowled in the powerplay, thought we gave 15-20 too many in the chase, there were some miscalculations and soft dismissals. The way we restricted them after the powerplay was good. The way we batted, even if two-three batters did well, we lost by very little. When you lose close matches, you know you have to be calm in the middle. When Vipraj was scoring runs, we had hopes. If Ashutosh would have stayed, it would have helped. Luck sometimes works in your favour and sometimes against."
