"Was great that everyone stepped up at different situations" - Dinesh Karthik

Speaking to Matthew Hayden, RCB mentor Dinesh Karthik claimed that the final was all about having that fire in the belly and commended the players for showing it. Karthik stated, as quoted by ESPN Cricinfo:

"Massive. It's a team that's waited 18 years, had to wait a long time. ABD, Kohli, all tried their hearts out. Support staff too. We believed from the start we were good. Had all bases covered. Was great that everyone stepped up at different situations. Got above par tonight, batters felt it wasn't easy. But final wasn't about the pitch, we needed fire in the belly and had it."
