The attacks on officers working on the new water supply pipeline scheme and the company representatives have been on the rise in recent days, creating a sense of insecurity among the officers. On Tuesday, Commissioner of Police Praveen Pawar warned that strict action would be taken against the attackers under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).
A review meeting on the new water supply scheme, chaired by Divisional Commissioner Dilip Gawade, was held on Tuesday evening. Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) Commissioner G. Shreekanth, District Collector Dilip Swami, Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran Chief Engineer Manish Palande, Executive Engineer Kiran Patil, GVPR Company Official Mahendra Goglothu, and others were present.

During the meeting, the progress of the new water supply project was reviewed. Officers informed that the work was progressing as per the directives of the Bombay High Court, which had previously instructed the officers to prepare a road map for completing the work as soon as possible. Accordingly, Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran will submit a road map by May 7. Shreekanth directed that a copy of the road map be provided to the Municipal Corporation as well.
