Good News For Passengers: Holding Area Set Up At Pune Railway Station To Manage Summer Rush | Sourced
In view of the ongoing summer holiday season and the surge in passenger traffic, the Pune Division of Central Railway, under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Rajesh Kumar Verma, has set up a holding area at platform no. 1. This initiative aims to streamline passenger movement, prevent overcrowding and ensure a safe and convenient travel experience, especially for general class passengers.
The holding area has been created as a designated shaded waiting zone equipped with essential passenger amenities. Facilities include adequate lighting, fans, portable toilets for both male and female passengers, and digital display boards for real-time train updates. A help desk has also been established at Pune Railway Station to assist passengers with travel-related queries.
To maintain order and ensure safety, a total of 25 Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel and 15 ticket-checking staff have been deployed for crowd management at the station. In addition, a commercial inspector/supervisor and one officer have been deputed for supervision and monitoring of the crowd. General class passengers are being systematically checked and regulated into the holding area before being allowed to proceed to the platform. Boarding is arranged in a proper queue to avoid congestion and eliminate the risk of stampede-like situations often caused by sudden rushes during train arrivals.
Train boarding from the holding area is being coordinated in a disciplined and phased manner. This helps to avoid overcrowding on the platforms and facilitates a smooth boarding process.
