Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital Controversy: Shiv Sena’s Ravindra Dhangekar Demands Cancellation Of 1-Rupee Yearly Rent Land & License Of Dr Sushrut Ghaisas | FPJ
Amidst the row over the death of a pregnant woman due to alleged denial of admission over non-payment of ₹10 lakh as an advance deposit, Ravindra Dhangekar of Shiv Sena (Shinde) has demanded the cancellation of the land grant given to the hospital for bridge construction by the government at a mere ₹1 per year rent.
Dhangekar has also demanded the cancellation of the license of Dr. Sushrut Ghaisas, who is embroiled in the controversy after the deceased’s family claimed that he asked them to go to Sassoon Hospital if they could not afford the treatment.
Ghaias is a Gynaecologist & Obstetrician Doctor at the hospital.
Taking to X, Dhangekar wrote, "I request the state government to immediately cancel the decision taken by the state government in the cabinet meeting on February 18, 2025, to provide land to Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital at a nominal rate. If this hospital does not provide any facilities for the poor, then it has no right to call itself a 'charitable hospital.' All the concessions granted to Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital by the Pune Municipal Corporation and the Revenue Department should be revoked. The overall construction of the hospital should also be investigated according to the map. I also request the state's Health Minister to revoke the medical license of Dr. Ghaisas, who values money more than patient care."
