'Go To Sassoon Hospital If You Can’t Afford Treatment'

Speaking to the media, Priyanka Patil, the deceased woman’s sister-in-law, shared the painful ordeal:

"We went to Dinanath Hospital on the 28th and met the doctors there. They conducted initial tests on my sister-in-law. According to the tests, she was in serious condition, and the doctor said she needed ₹20 lakh for treatment. If we couldn’t afford it, they asked for ₹10 lakh immediately. The doctor instructed us not to let her eat anything."

"We explained that we didn’t have that much money at the moment and requested the hospital management to start treatment with ₹3 lakh. We assured them that the remaining amount could be provided through the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. But the doctor bluntly told us, ‘If you can’t afford it, you should go directly to Sassoon Hospital, where also good treatment is provided,’" Priyanka Pate added.

Her voice trembled as she recounted the heartbreaking incident:
"My sister-in-law broke down in tears after hearing those words. Her blood pressure shot up to 140, and she was visibly shaken. Meanwhile, her bleeding worsened significantly. Despite our pleas, the hospital staff shifted us to the general ward. We stood at the billing counter with ₹3 lakh, but an officer there informed us that treatment wouldn’t proceed until the full payment was made."

"Even though she was bleeding heavily, the doctor didn’t pay her any attention. In fact, he didn’t prescribe any medication and told us to use the pills given by the previous hospital," Priyanka Pate revealed.
