Mumbai: The Mumbai Traffic Police have announced a temporary 'No Parking' zone on a 240-meter stretch of Sadashiv Govind Barve Marg in Kurla, effective from May 13 to August 12, 2025. The restriction applies to the area in front of Anjuman Islam School, a location where illegal parking has caused severe congestion and posed safety hazards for students and commuters alike.
The decision comes as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of approximately 6,000 students enrolled at the school and to ease vehicular movement in the area. The specific section of the road where parking is prohibited runs from Budha Colony Electric Pole No. LJB/002/083 to Royal Junction TBM-S-5 & NBS/M03/23075422. In addition, restrictions extend to Sant Rohidas Marg, from Sitaram Bhairu Marg to Egalwadi Lane.
Mumbai Police emphasised that the move aims to curb illegal vehicle parking that not only blocks traffic but also increases the risk of accidents, especially during school hours. The restriction will remain in effect 24 hours a day for the entire duration, and strict enforcement will be carried out by the Kurla Traffic Division.
In an official statement shared via their social media handle on X (formerly Twitter), Mumbai Traffic Police stated, "A 'No Parking' restriction has been imposed on a 240-meter stretch of Sadashiv Govind Barve Marg in front of Anjuman Islam School in Kurla.
