Mumbai Weather Update: Light To Moderate Rainfall Continues; IMD Predicts Below-Normal Rain In August, Surge In September
Mumbai and it's metropolitan region received light to moderate rains with thundershowers at isolated places from Wednesday night, which continued on Thursday as well. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a warning for an increase in thunderstorm activity in Maharashtra from Tuesday, August 5 to Saturday, August 9.

Mumbai: Mumbai and it's metropolitan region received light to moderate rains with thundershowers at isolated places from Wednesday night, which continued on Thursday as well. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a warning for an increase in thunderstorm activity in Maharashtra from Tuesday, August 5 to Saturday, August 9.
IMD Issues Yellow Alert Across Maharashtra Except Mumbai, Thane, Palghar
Almost all the districts in Maharashtra are placed under Yellow Alert for the next couple of days, however no alerts are issued for Mumbai, Thane and Palghar.
IMD Forecast: Cloudy Skies, Light to Moderate Rains for Next 48 Hours
As per the local weather forecast for the next 48 hours, the skies generally cloudy with possibility of light to moderate rain/thundershowers in Mumbai city and suburbs. The maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 30 deg. C. and 26 deg. C.
Top Rainfall Spots: Sewri (46mm), Madh (45mm), Chembur (44mm)
In last period of 24 hours (Wednesday 9 pm to Thursday 9 pm), the areas in Mumbai which received highest rainfall include: Sewri (46 mm), Madh (45 mm), Chembur (44 mm), Santacruz (37 mm), Bandra (34 mm), Ghatkopar (35 mm) and others.
