Mumbai News: Security Lapse At Wankhede Stadium In WC Match Leads To FIR Against 11 For Using False IDs

A security lapse at Wankhede Stadium during a recent match has come to light. Marine Drive police have filed an FIR against eleven individuals who entered the stadium using someone else's ID cards.
This incident occurred during the England vs. South Africa match on October 21.
The irregularity was discovered when PSI Meghshyam Gaonkar, a 54-year-old cop, became suspicious of a food vendor and checked the vendor's ID card, which was found to be issued in someone else's name.
The police subsequently interrogated and registered an FIR against the accused.
These vendors undergo police verification before receiving their ID cards, and the police have issued notices under the CrPC Act of 41 A to the individuals involved.
