Mumbai News: Missing Ghatkopar Cop Found Dead On Skywalk; Police Suspect Alcohol Addiction Behind Tragedy
Preliminary information suggests that his death may have been due to alcohol addiction. Pantnagar Police have registered an accidental death report (ADR) and are conducting further investigation.

A tragic end has come to the case of 54-year-old Police Head Constable (HC) Vilas Vithoba Raje, who had gone missing from Ghatkopar. On June 19, his dead body was found on the skywalk near Ghatkopar East railway station.
Preliminary information suggests that his death may have been due to alcohol addiction. Pantnagar Police have registered an accidental death report (ADR) and are conducting further investigation.
According to officials, the police control room received a call at 12:35 PM on June 19 about an unconscious man lying on the Ghatkopar East skywalk. Responding quickly, police personnel reached the spot and took the person to Rajawadi Hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him brought dead.
During the investigation, the police found that a missing person complaint had been filed by his wife, Manisha Raje, on June 16. She had reported that her husband, HC Vilas Raje, had been missing since June 11 from their residence at Jawahar Police Lines, Ghatkopar East. Manisha later identified the body as that of her husband.
HC Raje was serving in the Armed Division 01 at Naigaon Police Headquarters. According to the information provided, he was struggling with alcohol addiction and was not regularly attending duty.
Further investigation revealed that Raje had been absent from duty since February 04. A notice was issued to him under Section 145 of the Mumbai Police Act by LA1, urging him to report to duty, but he failed to do so.
The case is currently under further investigation by the Pantnagar Police.
