Mumbai: The Pantnagar police discovered the body of an unidentified man on the skywalk near Ghatkopar railway station on Thursday afternoon. Subsequent investigations confirmed that the deceased was a policeman, and the police are currently probing the case further.
Around noon on Thursday, the Pantnagar police received information about a man in critical condition on the skywalk close to the Ghatkopar railway station. Responding swiftly, officers rushed the individual to Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar, as reported by Loksatta. Unfortunately, the man died before receiving treatment.

During the investigation, police found that the victim had been reported missing from his residence since June 11. He was a member of the Armed Police Division in Mumbai and resided with his family in the Jawhar Police Lines area of Ghatkopar.
Authorities noted that the deceased had a history of alcohol addiction and frequently left home for long periods. Preliminary findings suggest that alcohol consumption may have contributed to his death, though the exact cause will be determined after the autopsy report is completed, according to report. The Pantnagar police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Five Men Arrested For Attacking Man With Beer Bottle Over Hafta Demand In Chembur
A 33-year-old man was brutally attacked with a beer bottle on Tuesday night in Chembur after he refused to pay a Rs 1,000 hafta. The police arrested five suspects connected to the case on Wednesday. The incident took place in Rahul Nagar, Vashi Naka.
The victim, Avinash Rajguru, resides there with his mother and two brothers. According to police reports, the accused identified as Arman Nirja (25), Deepak Chandanshive (26), Jai Kale, Ganesh Kandan, and Amol Salve, are local residents with prior criminal records, as per the report.
