The initiative involves painting metro pillars with distinct thematic designs and color schemes. For instance, if a metro line is designated as the 'Red Line,' Its pillars will be designed in such a way in red that the metro line is highlighted, visually representing that specific route.

Out of 2,962 metro pillars across the sprawling network, 2,537 have already been completed, with work on the remaining pillars slated to resume post-monsoon season.

Statement Of MMRDA's Commissioner

Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, Commissioner, MMRDA, said, "The colour-coded and thematically designed pillars will greatly aid commuters in identifying their routes, thereby streamlining their travel experience and contributing to a more organised urban landscape. We are committed to completing the remaining work efficiently once the monsoon subsides."
