Mumbai: A mega block has been announced by the Central, Western, and Harbour lines on Sunday, August 3, which will significantly impact local train services across the Mumbai Division. Commuters are urged to check the revised schedules and plan their travel accordingly.
According to the post shared by the Central Railway on X, a major block will be carried out on the Up and Down fast lines between Matunga and Mulund from 11:05 am to 3:45 pm. During this period, Down fast trains departing from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) between 10:36 am and 3:10 pm will be diverted onto the Down slow line at Matunga. These trains will halt at their usual scheduled stations and rejoin the Down fast line at Mulund. As a result, commuters can expect a delay of around 15 minutes.
Similarly, Up fast line trains leaving from Thane between 11:03 am and 3:38 pm will be rerouted to the Up slow line at Mulund. They will stop at scheduled stations between Mulund and Matunga, before being redirected back to the Up fast line at Matunga. These trains, too, are expected to be delayed by about 15 minutes.
Mega Block On Harbour Line
In addition to this, a block will be imposed on the Up and Down Harbour lines between Kurla and Vashi stations from 11:10 am to 4:10 pm. Due to this, the Down Harbour line trains from CSMT to Vashi, Belapur, and Panvel will be cancelled from 10:34 am to 3:36 pm. Similarly, Up Harbour line services from Panvel, Belapur, and Vashi to CSMT will not run between 10:16 am and 3:47 pm. To ease travel during this period, special suburban trains will operate between CSMT and Kurla, and between Panvel and Vashi.
Additionally, Harbour line passengers have been permitted to travel via Thane to reach Vashi and Nerul between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm as an alternative arrangement.

Mega Block On Western Railway
Meanwhile, Western Railway has announced a jumbo block on the Up and Down fast lines between Churchgate and Mumbai Central from 10:35 am to 3:35 pm on Sunday. During this time, all fast line trains will be operated on the slow lines between Churchgate and Mumbai Central.
Due to the block, several Up and Down suburban trains will remain cancelled, and some Churchgate train services will be short-terminated or reversed from Bandra or Dadar. The full list of affected services is available at all Station Masters' offices. Railway authorities have requested commuters’ cooperation and have expressed regret for the inconvenience caused.
