Mumbai: MHADA CEO Sanjeev Jaiswal Inspects Cess Properties, Redevelopment Projects; Orders Action On Stalled Works
The Vice President and CEO of MHADA, Sanjeev Jaiswal conducted an extensive inspection tour of cess properties, redeveloped buildings, and cluster redevelopment projects under the Mumbai Building Repairs and Reconstruction Board (MBRRB) on Friday.

Mumbai: The Vice President and CEO of MHADA, Sanjeev Jaiswal conducted an extensive inspection tour of cess properties, redeveloped buildings, and cluster redevelopment projects under the Mumbai Building Repairs and Reconstruction Board (MBRRB) on Friday.
The inspection covered multiple sites across the city. Jaiswal first visited buildings acquired under Section 91A, including Jasoda Cooperative Housing Society, Swami Samarth, and RK Building. He interacted with tenants, addressing their concerns and instructing officials to expedite pending work.
At Anandalay, a cess property with stalled redevelopment, Jaiswal noted that despite a six-month extension, progress remained slow. He directed immediate action against the developer.
Jaiswal also inspected 12 redeveloped buildings under DCR 33(9), including Chapra, Mohsin, Kulshree Sita Smriti, and others. He emphasized the need for residents to participate actively in cluster redevelopment and instructed officials to hold discussions. Additionally, he proposed including Shankar Ghanekar Marg’s Janardan Apartment and chawls in the cluster redevelopment scheme.
In the afternoon, Jaiswal visited sites in South Mumbai, including 10 buildings at Khed Galli (Prabhadevi), Botawala Chawl, and seven buildings on Rajabhau Desai Marg under redevelopment. He also inspected ongoing cluster redevelopment projects like Kadri Mansion, Sakarbai Dhanji Chawl, and Siddhi Prabhat Jersey A & B.
Further, he reviewed the Piramal Mill transit camp and discussed tenant issues. He directed officials to complete the Wellington View guesthouse for IAS officers swiftly. He also ordered the demolition of two transit camp buildings at MP Mill Compound to facilitate a working women’s hostel project.
Jaiswal visited a joint venture redevelopment project at Chikhalwadi and reviewed proposals for redeveloping Goregaonkar Wadi and Koliwadi under DCR 33(7). He also interacted with tenants of LIC-owned buildings in Girgaum, who expressed interest in redevelopment.
