The Juhu police arrested two persons for alleged murder after a 27-year-old man was stabbed to death by his acquaintances over an old dispute. The deceased was identified as Krishna Madaswamy.
The accused are Parmesh Devendra, alias Parmeshwar, and Kisan Devendra. The victim, along with the arrested accused Parmesh and Kisan, were all criminals on record, with multiple offences registered against them at the Juhu police station. All three – Krishna, Parmesh, and Kisan – are residents of Nehru Nagar and have serious criminal cases against them, including assault.
Police said that Krishna had been engaged in an ongoing argument with Parmesh for the past few days, which had resulted in several fights between them. On Sunday, around 4am, Krishna was near the bus stop in Vile Parle West when Parmesh and Kisan arrived. They revived the old dispute, abused him, and soon a verbal altercation broke out.
In a fit of rage, Parmesh attacked Krishna with a sharp weapon, causing severe injuries. On receiving the information, the police rushed to the scene and took the bleeding victim to Cooper Hospital, where he died during treatment.
The initial investigation pointed to the involvement of Parmesh and Kisan, prompting the registration of a murder case against them. While the search was underway, both accused – who had fled – were arrested in Vile Parle West. During interrogation, they confessed to killing Krishna out of enmity.
