Navi Mumbai: The Raigad District Administration will organize Revenue Lok Adalat sessions across the district on August 11, aimed at resolving pending revenue-related appeals and claims. The initiative comes under a time-bound schedule directed by the Additional Collector, Sunil Thorve, as part of a wider drive to clear backlogs at the tehsil, sub-divisional, and district levels. Additional sessions will also be held on August 18 and 25.

Instructed by the District Collector Kishan Jawale, this Lok Adalat campaign involves the active participation of all Tehsildars, Sub-Divisional Officers, and Additional Collectors, who are expected to take swift action to settle ongoing and pending matters. The Lok Adalat will take place at 11:00 AM on the scheduled dates.

To maximize resolution, a systematic procedure has been laid out. Tehsildars and Sub-Divisional Officers who operate with single hearing boards are required to conduct three hearings each to move cases toward final decision. The Lok Adalat sessions at the tehsil and sub-divisional levels in Alibag, Pen, Roha, and Shrivardhan will be conducted on August 11, 18, and 25.

In sub-divisions like Panvel, Karjat, Mangaon, and Mahad, the Revenue Lok Adalat will be held in three phases. The first phase is scheduled for August 11, 18, and 25, the second phase will be held on August 14, 21, and 28, and the third phase is planned for August 22, 29, and September 12.

At the Additional Collector level, the Revenue Lok Adalat for Alibag, Murud, and Pen talukas will be held at the Additional Collector’s Office, Alibag on August 11, 18, and 25. For Mangaon, Tala, Mahad, Poladpur, Shrivardhan, Mhasala, Roha, and Sudhagad, hearings will be conducted at the Sub-Divisional Officer’s Office, Mangaon on August 12, 19, and 26. Meanwhile, for Panvel, Uran, Karjat, and Khalapur talukas, hearings will be held at the Additional Tehsildar’s Office, Panvel on August 22, 29, and September 12.

In preparation for the hearings, notices will be issued to appellants and respondents who have not yet submitted their responses, a statement from Raigad administration said. Each Lok Adalat session will be held in two rounds—morning at 11:00 AM and afternoon at 3:00 PM—to accommodate the maximum number of cases.

To ensure proper legal procedure, appellants are expected to serve notices to respondents. In cases where a party is deceased, legal heirs must be officially added to the case record, and notices must be served to them as well. If the respondent has not been served or is untraceable, public notices will be issued via newspapers.

Additional Collector Sunil Thorve urged all parties involved in pending cases to attend the Lok Adalat and actively participate in the proceedings.
