Mumbai: Marking the completion of 19 years of operations, IndiGo leaps in its internationalisation journey as it announced daily direct flights to London Heathrow from October 26. The airline also announced its business product IndiGoStretch on Dubai and Singapore routes.

India’s largest airline in terms of market share, IndiGo completed 19 years of operation on Monday and announced several developments to strengthen its long-haul journey.

Direct London Heathrow Flights to Begin October 26

To mark the anniversary, the airline announced daily direct flights to London Heathrow from October 26 through five additional Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft, which will be received from Norse Atlantic Airways under its ongoing damp-lease agreement.

IndiGoStretch Business Class Rolled Out on Key Routes

Simultaneously, IndiGo also announced that it will start offering its tailor-made business product IndiGoStretch on flights connecting Singapore to Delhi and Mumbai, as it has announced to operate its two-class A321 aircraft on the routes.

Similarly, it has also announced plans to introduce IndiGoStretch on flights between Delhi and Dubai from 30 August 30, and flights between Mumbai and Dubai starting September 3.

Fleet Now Over 400 Aircraft, Covers 130+ Destinations

Notably, IndiGo operates a fleet of over 400 aircraft to service a robust network covering more than 90 domestic and over 40 international destinations. It was recently recognised as the ‘best airline in India and South Asia’, besides being named the ‘cleanest airline in India and South Asia’ by Skytrax at the World Airline Awards 2025.

Airline Expands Long-Haul Network with Global Additions

IndiGo announced converting 30 aircraft of its purchase rights for 70 Airbus A350 aircraft, into a firm order, taking its total wide-body aircraft order to 60. It also announced plans to start operations to Copenhagen, Athens, Siem Reap besides adding four more Central Asian destinations within FY26.

Codeshare Deals with Delta, Virgin Atlantic, Jetstar Expand Global Reach

IndiGo unfolded a new chapter in its journey by launching long-haul international operations, with direct flights connecting Mumbai with Manchester and Amsterdam. MOUs with Delta Air Lines, Air France-KLM and Virgin Atlantic have allowed it to connect India with Europe and North America.

It has also enhanced its partnerships with KLM and Japan Airlines, while also entering into a codeshare agreement with Jetstar to offer one-stop connectivity to 14 destinations across Australia and New Zealand.

To Begin Flights from Navi Mumbai Airport with 18+ Daily Services

IndiGo announced commencement of commercial flight operations from Navi Mumbai International Airport with over 18 daily departures to over 15 cities as soon as the airport launches.

It also signed an MOU with Bangalore International Airport Ltd. (BIAL) for development of maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) infrastructure to support the airline’s expanding fleet. With an average aircraft age of just 4.9 years, IndiGo has been named the "world's youngest aircraft fleet" in the 100+ aircraft category.
