Cachar: The IndiGo passenger who was slapped on a flight and went incommunicado for two days after the incident has now spoken about the ordeal and the sequence of events that unfolded. The man has been identified as 32-year-old Hussain Ahmed Majumdar, a resident of Cachar in Assam, who works at a hotel in Mumbai.

He suffered a panic attack when he was travelling from Mumbai to Silchar via Kolkata on Thursday. Two cabin members were reportedly helping him exit the aircraft when a co-passenger, Hafijul Rahaman, suddenly slapped him. Rahaman was detained by authorities after the flight landed in Kolkata and was handed over to the police. He was later released. Majumdar was also taken to the police station for questioning.

"I boarded the flight at 2 AM. I was scared, and my body was shivering from fear, so I sat next to a passenger. I asked his name, and he said Hafijul Rahaman. I understood that he is Muslim and gave my 'salam'. When he saw me, I was nervous, and he lost his control and slapped me 3-4 times," Majumdar was qouted saying by NDTV. He confirmed that he didn't "misbehave" with the co-flier.

He further said, "The cabin crew intervened and asked him why he slapped me. The cabin crew offered me water and tried to calm me down," which can also be seen in the video that has gone viral.

Majumdar claimed he missed his flight to Silchar as he was later taken to a hospital for a check-up.

"Due to the slapping, there is pain on my head and I find it difficult to get up easily,"he said.

“I had booked a direct flight from Mumbai to Silchar, but after what happened on the flight, they deboarded me at Kolkata airport. The next day was Friday, so I looked for a masjid in the city, but no one helped me,’ CNN-News18 qouted his as saying.

“I eventually followed someone else to a mosque and offered prayers. After that, I boarded a train to Assam," he added.

He was found at a railway station in Assam's Barpeta on Saturday after his family filed a missing complaint with the police.
