Chef Vikas Khanna has many feathers in his hat: Michelin-starred chef, author, filmmaker and humanitarian. Touted as 'India's favourite chef', he has authored over 25 books and has vastly influenced the culinary world with his mind-blowingly good recipes.
Few know of his physical disability - the chef suffers from clubfoot, but that didn't stop the chef from achieving great success in his field.
He is a master of desi recipes and his NYC restaurant Bungalow, has become the popular food adda of several celebrities like Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Nita Ambani.
Recently the chef uploaded a video of him painting the nails of a differently challenged colleague and the Internet couldn't stop gushing about it. The young woman seen in the video is Mysha, the "adorable guest service manager" at Bungalow, Vikas Khanna's restaurant at New York City.
The video has been extremely well-received by his fans who can't stop gushing about how the chef is "healing this world, one act at a time".
"Congratulations Mysha and this is one of the cutest moment I have witnessed just now," wrote @sartorial_silly.
"Vikas ji…you are such an amazing human being, a blessed soul. And it feels so proud and amazing to see how each day you make us a part of your life, bungalow and the staff so beautifully. Mysha is surely lucky to have you as her guide and mentor," shared @anki_talks.
Bungalow is located at 101 East First Avenue in NYC and was opened by the chef in March 2024. The restaurant is a tribute to his late sister Radhika Khanna and its opening coincides with his late sister's 50th birthday.
Through the restaurant, the chef has also been creating remarkable stories of inclusion and diversity, and he hired Mysha as a commitment to creating equal opportunities for all.
In the video too, the chef has written: "We are all so proud of her (Mysha's) hard work & constantly learning new things. Her dedication & talent."
