Indore (Madhya Pradesh): NSUI leader Aman Patwari and his associates have been booked for forcibly entering the administrative building of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Arts and Commerce College (GACC), Bhanwarkuan, on Monday morning, carrying iron rods and damaging the property.

According to the FIR lodged at Bhanwarkuan police station, the group entered without authorisation, raised slogans and moved towards the principal’s office.

Despite a professor’s attempt to stop them, they allegedly broke the door lock, entered unlawfully, damaged government property and obstructed official work. The commotion lasted nearly an hour, leaving students and staff in fear.

Principal Dr Mamta Chandrashekhar told Free Press that the group claimed the grass in the garden near the statues of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Mahatma Gandhi had grown tall. ‘We were already cutting the grass as part of Independence Day preparations. In the rainy season, grass grows again in days — but that doesn’t justify vandalism,’ she said.

She added that police were called immediately but the accused had left before their arrival. CCTV footage of the incident has been provided. ‘We filed a written complaint signed by staff and professors, which led to the FIR. I have also formally requested for increased security in the campus. Such acts are a serious threat to the education system and there must be strict action so this is never repeated,’

Dr Chandrashekhar said. A case has been registered against Aman Patwari and his unidentified accomplices under sections 221, 324(3), 331(3), 3(5) of the BNS and further investigation is underway.
