Badnawar (Madhya Pradesh): A private clinic operator organised a free health-checkup camp inside a sub-jail in Madhya Pradesh's Badnawar on Friday without proper permission on Sunday.
Information revealed, approximately 40 prisoners received health check-ups and necessary medicines during the camp. However, the situation sparked a controversy when photos of the event went viral on social media, prompting a response from local authorities.
According to reports, the check-up was conducted by Dr. Gopal Singh Thakur and Dr. Dashrath Choudhary, with nurses Pinky Meena and Sapna Kataria assisting.
While 30 prisoners received treatment, general tests for blood pressure and sugar were conducted on 10 others. Deputy Jailor Manoj Kumar Mishra was present during the camp and claimed he had granted permission for the event.
Sub-divisional officer (SDO) Deepak Chauhan took the matter seriously, issuing a show cause notice to sub-jailer Manoj Kumar Mishra and demanding an explanation. The health department was also instructed to provide information about the doctors involved in the camp.
