Madhya Pradesh: Electricity Employees Demand Action Against Lawyer In Alot

Alot (Madhya Pradesh): Electricity employees staged a dharna outside a local police station, demanding legal action against a Congress spokesperson and advocate for allegedly stealing electricity.

This protest follows an earlier demonstration by lawyers at the same police station, which resulted in an FIR filed against Junior Engineer (JE) Amit Patidar.

The dispute began when JE Patidar visited Yogendra Singh Jadoun's residence in Pancham Vihar Colony on April 19, after receiving complaints about power supply interruptions.

Upon inspection, Patidar discovered that two electricity meters were installed at the property, but only one was registered. Jadoun reportedly did not cooperate with the electricity department staff, verbally abused the employees and obstructed government work.

In response, electricity employees applied to the police, urging Jadoun to be charged with power theft, obstructing government operations and using abusive language.

Meanwhile, Jadoun filed counter-allegations against JE Patidar for assault and abuse. Police station in-charge Shankar Singh Chauhan said that the application was under investigation.

Brahmins protest filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s remarks

Nagda (Madhya Pradesh): Members of Shri Rashtriya Parshuram Sena Yuva Vahini and the Brahmin community, on Monday, protested against filmmaker Anurag Kashyap in Nagda, over his recent controversial remarks about the Brahmin community.

Tehsil coordinator Nilesh Mehta stated that Kashyap recently made an offensive comment on his social profile, referring to ‘urinating on Brahmins’. The remark sparked outrage, with the community accusing the filmmaker of spreading hatred and disrespecting Hindu and Sanatan values.

Alleging that his comment insulted the community and promoted social discord, protestors gathered in large numbers and burned his effigy. A memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister was submitted, demanding an FIR and strict legal action. The community also warned of intensified protests if a public apology is not issued.

Community members including Hemant Tiwari, Pradeep Dubey, Rahul Sharma, Santosh Sharma and others participated. They appealed to the public to boycott the filmmaker’s movies and not support those who insult social harmony and religious sentiments.

Copies of the memorandum were sent to the Union Home Minister Amit Shah and local police officials for further action.
