Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Amid light rain this morning, devotees gathered in large numbers to perform ‘jalabhishek’ on the third Monday of the holy Sawan month. The air resonated with chants of “Har Har Mahadev” and “Om Namah Shivaya”, as temples across the city transformed into vibrant centres of devotion.
At all Shiva temples, from Bhuteshwar Mahadev at Panchkuian to Jabreshwar Mahadev at Rajwada and from Gendeshwar Shivdham in Pardeshipura to Annapurna and Gita Bhavan temples, thousands came together to worship the Lord.
Temples were beautifully decorated and rituals were performed with sacred offerings of bhang, dhatura and milk. Evening maha-aarti was performed with the grand decoration of Lord Shiva in various divine forms.
Adding to the day’s spiritual significance were Vinayak Chaturthi, Ravi Shubh Yoga and Andal Jayanti, amplifying the sanctity of this auspicious Monday. The third Shravan Monday is believed to represent cosmic balance, a midpoint between spiritual initiation and transformation.
The city embraced this sacred harmony, blending rain, reverence and ritual in devotion to the supreme lord of transformation Mahadev. Faith flowed like the rain, purifying hearts and souls.
