In a shocking incident, a former female BJP worker was arrested in Uttarakhand's Haridwar for allegedly allowing her boyfriend and others to sexually abuse her 13-year-old daughter.

Police have also arrested the woman’s partner, Sumit Patwal, and are searching for another accused, according to reports.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Paramendra Doval stated that the minor accused her mother of being complicit in the sexual abuse she endured.

"The girl was taken for a medical checkup, and her allegations were confirmed. Strict action will be taken against those involved," he said.

The accused have been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and other relevant legal provisions.

Reports indicate that the accused woman lived separately from her husband, and the 13-year-old daughter resided with her father. The crime came to light only after the minor narrated the horrific ordeal to her father.

Following the girl’s shocking revelation that her own mother permitted her boyfriend and others to assault her, a police complaint was filed. The girl then underwent a medical examination. After the medical reports corroborated her allegations, police detained her mother and boyfriend.

Local BJP leaders denied the victim’s mother’s current association with the party, stating that she had been relieved of all party responsibilities last August.
