Uttar Pradesh: Upset Over Not Getting Married, Man Creates Ruckus & Sets Own House On Fire In Hamirpur; VIDEO Surfaces

Hamirpur: A youth from Uttar Pradesh's Hamirpur district, who was upset over not getting married, set his house on fire on Thursday. The incident was caught on camera and the video of the incident is doing rounds on social media. It can be seen in the video that a cloud of smoke is emanating from the house which was set on fire by him. The youth took the extreme step allegedly to blackmail his relatives for his marriage.

On receiving the information, the Kotwali police and the fire department rushed to the spot and controlled the spread of fire with the help of the residents of the locality.

The man has been identified as Dinesh Vishwakarma. Vishwakarma's neighbours saw smoke coming out of his house in Mohalla Bagha of Maudha town. The house is owned by his father Ramesh Vishwakarma. Dinesh and his family's personal belongings were turned to ashes due to the fire.

Dinesh's anger did not settle down after setting the house on fire, he then started throwing things from the roof. Standing on top of the roof Dinesh kept shouting

Alcohol Addict

Reportedly, Dinesh's family members claim that Dinesh is addicted to alcohol and mentally unstable and that he set the house on fire after an argument with family members over his marriage.

Ruckus Continues

The youth who was standing on top of the roof continued to create havoc despite the police trying to convince him to get down. Dinesh was then taken into custody by the police.

Police Reacts To Viral Video

Hamirpur police reacting to the viral video on micro-blogging website X said, "On receiving the information, Maudha police reached the spot and extinguished the fire with the help of fire brigade and local people. The accused has been taken into custody and necessary legal action is being taken."
