UP Youth Dies By Suicide Fearing Police Torture In Kidnapping Case; Missing Woman Found Married To Another Man

In a tragic turn of events, a case of alleged kidnapping has ended with the suicide of an innocent youth and the revelation that the missing woman had eloped with someone else.
Arjun Singh, a resident of Khwajpur village who worked at a CNG pump in Gurugram, was found hanging from a tree on May 7. He had been accused of kidnapping 20-year-old Kumkum, a BA student at Dilavari Devi Degree College, who disappeared on May 2 after telling her family she was going to college.
Kumkum's father, Surendra Lodhi, filed a kidnapping FIR against Arjun on May 4, prompting aggressive police action. According to Arjun's family, police repeatedly raided their home, damaged property, and threatened neighbours against harboring him.
Arjun's sister Sheetal has alleged that he was terrified the police would brutally torture him during questioning.
Police reportedly damaged her phone during the raid.
Arjun's uncle Virendra revealed that his nephew had been hiding at relatives' homes, consistently maintaining his innocence. "He kept saying he had nothing to do with the girl's disappearance," Virendra told reporters.

Bulandshahr ASP Rijul Kumar confirmed that multiple police teams are searching for Kumkum, whose testimony could provide clarity on the case. Meanwhile, Arjun's father has filed a murder case against Kumkum's family members, alleging foul play in his son's death. The post-mortem report is awaited to determine the exact cause of Arjun's death.
