Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): CM Mohan Yadav paid floral tribute to the statue of Lord Gautam Buddha at Ashok Buddha Vihar here on Monday on the occasion of Buddha Purnima and wished Lord Buddha Jayanti by participating in the programme organised by Bharatiya Buddhist Mahasabha.
Addressing the gathering, the CM said that may the blessings of Lord Buddha remain on all of us, Lord Buddha has given us the principle of following peace, love, compassion in life, by following which we can conquer the world.
The message of world peace given by Gautam Buddha is still relevant today. Lord Gautam Buddha has the largest number of followers in the world, but India is the only country to follow the path shown by Lord Buddha, he reminded. MP Anil Firojiya, MLA Anil Jain Kaluheda and Satish Malviya were also present.

A lecture on the topic, “Dr Ambedkar: The pioneer of Buddha and Buddhism”, was jointly organised Dr Ambedkar Peeth and Krishi Vigyan Adhyanshala. Educationist Dr Smita Bhawalkar said, Baba Saheb saw the life philosophy of Mahatma Buddha as social justice, sociality and economic justice.
He was of the view that Buddhism is an ideology which is based on logic, justice and equality. When Baba Saheb gave the slogan of ‘Be educated’, it means that the definition and purpose of education helps in behaving sensibly.
AJJAKS district celebrated Buddha Purnima at its office located at Kothi Palace under the leadership of president Dr RL Parmar. Provincial general secretary of AJJAKS Rajveer Agnihotri, who came from Morena, was present as the chief guest He said that may the blessings of Lord Buddha remain on all of us, Lord Buddha has given us the principle of walking on peace, love, compassion in life, by following that we can win the world. The message of world peace given by Gautam Buddha is meaningful even today.
A spiritual experiment from Shantikunj Haridwar, the headquarters of Akhil Vishwa Gayatri Parivar, on Buddha Purnima, a campaign of Gayatri Yagna was organised in more than three thousand homes in Ujjain district.
In Ujjain city, the campaign was especially run for two days, May 11 and 12 in Atharva Vihar, Swati Vihar Colony of Nanakheda area. Gayatri Yagyas were organised in 550 houses in Ujjain city and Kothi Mahal, 55 in Ujjain rural, 525 in Khachrod, 85 in Badnagar, 1050 in Nagda, 20 in Mahidpur, 80 in Jharda, 500 in Makdaun and 210 houses in Tarana.
