UP: Facing ₹15 Cr Debt, Real Estate Businessman Dies By Suicide In Lucknow; Blames Partner In Final Video Shot Moments Before Death |

Lucknow: A shocking incident took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow on Wednesday afternoon when a real estate businessman identified as Shahbaz died by suicide after shooting himself in the head with a licensed 12-bore gun inside his office located near the Ring Road area.

Shahbaz Mentioned ₹15 Cr Debt, Harassment By Partner In Last Video

According to police, the incident occurred around 3:30 pm. Just 15 minutes before taking the extreme step, Shahbaz went live on Facebook, emotionally narrating his struggles. In the video, he claimed he was under severe mental distress due to a debt burden of Rs 15 crore and accused a business partner of harassing him. The video has now gone viral on social media.

During the Facebook Live, Shahbaz appeared emotional and said he could no longer bear the mounting financial pressure. Shortly after ending the video, he allegedly sent his office guard out to buy a cold drink. In the guard’s absence, Shahbaz picked up the 12-bore gun and shot himself. The loud gunshot startled people nearby, including the guard, who rushed back to find Shahbaz lying in a pool of blood. He had died instantly from the head injury.

Police Probe Underway

According to a TV9 report, senior police officials including the ADCP East, ACP Ghazipur, Gudamba SHO and a forensic team rushed to the scene with full force. The police took possession of the body and sent it for postmortem. Forensic experts recovered the gun, a used cartridge, and other items from the office. Cops have also begun analyzing Shahbaz’s mobile phone and the Facebook Live video to determine the circumstances that led to the tragedy.

ADCP East stated that preliminary investigation points to suicide. Police are examining documents related to Shahbaz’s financial dealings, particularly the loans he mentioned. Authorities are also preparing to question the business associate he named in the video. Furthermore, the police are scrutinizing Shahbaz’s real estate transactions to understand the nature of his financial crisis.
