Samajwadi Party Leader’s Poster Accuses BJP Of Double Standards In Hate Speech Cases

Prayagraj: A poster put up by a Samajwadi Party student leader in George Town has stirred debate across the city. The poster accuses the BJP led government of biased treatment in cases involving provocative speeches, alleging that SP and opposition leaders faced harsh penalties
while BJP members went unpunished. The poster, attributed to student leader Saddam Ansari alias Comrade Ansari, juxtaposes photos of four BJP and four SP leaders who are all accused to make inflammatory remarks. It states that despite similar charges, only SP leaders lost their legislative membership and faced criminal cases, while BJP figures continued unaffected.

The poster poses a direct question to the ruling party: “What defines an objectionable comment?” and subtly questions whether punitive standards apply only to Muslim representatives.
The poster has sparked public discussions about the consistency and neutrality of government action. While BJP leaders have not responded officially, the issue has reignited conversations around selective justice and political targeting.
