UPSC IES 2025 Exam: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is scheduled to hold the Indian Engineering Services (IES) Preliminary Examination 2025 tomorrow, June 8, 2025. The UPSC ESE 2025 Prelims exam will be conducted in two shifts including the first shift will begin at 9:30 AM and the second shift will commence at 2 pm. Here, candidates can check the UPSC IES 2025 exam guidelines and other important details.

The UPSC conducts the Indian Engineering Services (IES) examination, also called the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) 2025, every year to select candidates for different technical posts in the Central Government.

The process of selection is conducted in three phases—Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam, and a Personality Test (Interview). The candidates who clear the Preliminary phase are allowed to sit for the main examination. The last merit list is prepared on the basis of the cumulative marks obtained in all three phases.

The ESE 2025 Preliminary Examination consists of two objective-type papers:

- Paper I is on General Studies and Engineering Aptitude, is 2 hours long, and is of 200 marks.

- Paper II checks the candidate's selected Engineering discipline (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics & Telecommunication), is 3 hours long, and is of 300 marks.

UPSC IES 2025 Exam Guidelines

- Candidates must bring their UPSC IES 2025 Exam admit card on the day of the examination along with valid ID proof. Candidates who fail to bring the UPSC IES 2025 hall ticket will not be allowed to enter the examination hall.

- Candidates are advised to report at the examination venue a minimum of one hour prior to the preset timing.

- Use of electronic devices such as mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth-enabled devices, calculators, and pagers is completely not allowed within the exam center.

- Breaching any instruction of the examination or code of conduct can result in an instant disqualification.

- Candidates should thoroughly read and adhere to all instructions given in the admit card and question paper.
