CBI Files Chargesheet Against Ex-J&K Governor Satya Pal Malik And 6 Other In Kiru Hydro Electric Project Corruption Case
Meanwhile, Satyapal Malik’s official social media account posted an update stating that he has been hospitalised after his health deteriorated and is currently unable to speak to anyone.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a chargesheet against Satya Pal Malik, the former Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, along with his two private secretaries and four others in an alleged corruption case related to the Kiru Hydroelectric Project in Jammu and Kashmir. The development was reported by news agency ANI, citing CBI officials.
Meanwhile, Satyapal Malik’s official social media account posted an update stating that he has been hospitalised after his health deteriorated and is currently unable to speak to anyone.
The post also included a photo of the former Jammu and Kashmir governor lying on a hospital bed.
In February last year, the CBI conducted searches at former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik’s Delhi residence, as well as the homes of several of his relatives and associates. The raids were part of an investigation into alleged corruption in the awarding of civil contracts worth ₹2,200 crore for the Kiru Hydroelectric Power Project.
Notably, Malik, who claims to be the whistleblower in the case, first raised concerns about corruption in October 2021 while serving as Governor of Meghalaya.
Speaking at a public event in Rajasthan, he stated, “Two files came for my approval. One of the secretaries told me that if I cleared them, I could receive ₹150 crore for each. I refused, saying I had brought only five ‘kurta-pyjamas’ to Kashmir and would leave with just those.”
Following Malik’s serious allegations, the Jammu and Kashmir government recommended a CBI probe to verify the claims and examine the details.
