Salman Khan & SRK's Co-Star Shwetha Menon Booked For Featuring In Condom Ad, Obscene Films: Report

A case has been filed against Malayalam actress Shwetha Menon by Ernakulam Central Police in Kochi for allegedly featuring in obscene films and advertisements for financial gain. Shwetha starred in Shah Rukh Khan's 2001 film Asoka and in Salman Khan's Bandhan which released in 1998.

The case has been registered under multiple legal provisions, including the Prevention of Obscenity Act, the IT Act, and sections of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. The action follows a complaint filed by public activist Martin Menachery, as reported by Mathrubhumi.

The complaint was reportedly submitted to the Ernakulam Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court, which directed the local police to initiate action. Following the court's directive, an FIR was registered against the actress.

The complaint specifically targets Shwetha's performances in films such as Rathinirvedam, Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha, and Kalimannu, as well as her appearance in a condom advertisement.

The FIR alleges that these roles contained vulgar and obscene content intended for commercial benefit.

Further, the complaint claims that such content was shared through social media platforms and adult websites to increase popularity and generate revenue. Based on these allegations, the FIR also includes charges under Sections 3 and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.

As of now, there has been no official statement from Shwetha or her team regarding the case.

Shwetha made her acting debut in 1991 with the Malayalam film Anaswaram. She has been a part of other Hindi films like Ishq, Shikari, Prithvi, Khatron Ke Khiladi, Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya, Vadh, Anokha Bandhan, Pran Jaye Par Shaan Na Jaye, Kahaan Ho Tum, Maqbool, Hungama, Run, Corporate, Sandwich, Kisse Pyaar Karoon and many more.

She was last seen in the Malayalam film Jangar which released in 2024 and the web series Nagendran's Honeymoons. Shwetha also hosted a Malayalam show titled Enkile Ennodu Para recently.
