Ram Kapoor On 8-Hour Shift Demand Amid Deepika Padukone, Sandeep Reddy Vanga Controversy: 'I Shouldn't Be Complaining...'
Actor Ram Kapoor weighed in on reports of Deepika Padukone's Spirit exit over 8-hour shift demands, saying actors should feel lucky. "I’m going to complain about long hours? I should go slap myself in the bathroom," he said. Recalling Mistry's shoot, he mentioned working sleepless for days, adding that top actors choose their schedules and do so willingly.

Actor Ram Kapoor has shared his perspective on the ongoing conversation amid reports of Deepika Padukone's exit from Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit, allegedly due to the director's refusal to limit the shoot to an 8-hour shift, considering she is a new working mom. He stated that, in his personal opinion, one should feel lucky and not complain, as they get to earn the money they want, work the hours they choose, and take on the projects they wish to.
In an interview with Zoom, Ram added, "I am going to complain about long hours? I should go slap myself in the bathroom. It’s as simple as that."
Further, the actor stated that sometimes an actor has to work extra hours. Sharing his experience while shooting for Mistry, Ram said that during the four-month schedule, there were times when neither he nor director Rishabh slept for three days. However, he feels he doesn't have the right to complain.
The 51-year-old actor added, "Whenever I want a break, I take a two-month break and go diving in the Maldives, or wherever I like. Whenever I want to work, I work on my terms. And I’m going to complain?"
Further, Ram also acknowledged that the working hours in the industry are 'absolutely insane.' He added that while what actors are saying isn’t wrong, he believes that people at his level or even higher have the privilege to choose when and how they work, and that they are doing it by choice.
"I’ve reached a point where I simply cannot complain. I don’t have the right to," he concluded.
