Actor Ram Kapoor was dropped from the promotions of his upcoming show Mistry after he was accused of passing sexually inappropriate comments on members of the show's marketing and PR team during press interviews. The actor has now ended his silence on the entire fiasco, and has admitted that he indeed made those comments, but he meant no harm.

"Everything I’ve been accused of saying, I have said it. So, the fact is that I am guilty as charged. But this is what I have to say in my defence. Whenever I’m with people I am comfortable with, I tend to become my bindass self. Everyone who knows me and who has worked with me knows that is how I am and that I don’t mean to be offensive," Ram told ETimes.

He wet on to say that the entire team was "laughing and joking", and he would have apologised and fixed it right away if he had an idea that the people around him were uncomfortable.

'My character has been questioned for first time in 25 years'

The actor went on to say that he while he did comment on a girl's dress and called it a distraction, he also asked a few men who were standing there to move out of his line of vision.

"If I felt it was inappropriate, why would I say it openly in a hall full of media people? My character has been questioned for the first time in 25 years, so do acknowledge my justification," he added.

'Will apologise to each one of them'

Ram further mentioned how the incident made him realise that times have changed and he needs to be more careful with his words. "Now, I am aware of a few things which I wasn’t that day. I cannot be my obnoxious normal self. The comments I made came from a harmless space, but the bottom line is that those team members, who are half my age, did get offended, and that’s not acceptable," he stated, adding that he needs to change himself not just for his fans but also for his son, who looks up to him.

He also promised to apologise to the team members who were offended by his behaviour. "It doesn’t matter what I think or what the media thinks is right or wrong, but the OTT platform thought that certain things were wrong, and that is justified from their point of view. I do not blame them for taking this stance, because yes, it will teach me a lesson. I respect their decision, and I am going to find a way to apologise to each of those team members who were offended that day on a personal level," he concluded.
