Pawandeep Rajan Health Update: Singer 'Stable & Conscious' After Car Accident, Suffers Multiple Limb Fractures

Singer Pawandeep Rajan, winner of Indian Idol Season 12, was involved in a serious car accident on Monday at 3:40 a.m. on National Highway 9 in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh. After initial treatment, he was referred to Fortis Hospital in Noida. Currently stable and conscious, he sustained multiple limb fractures and will undergo several surgeries.

Singer Pawandeep Rajan, who gained widespread recognition for winning Indian Idol Season 12, was involved in a serious car accident on Monday at 3:40 a.m. on National Highway 9 in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh. The incident left him with serious injuries, and the police initially rushed him to a private hospital for an initial checkup. However, due to the severity of his injuries, he was later referred to a hospital in Noida.

According to Hindustan Times, singer is currently stable and conscious following the car accident. He has been admitted to Fortis Hospital in Noida, where he is receiving care from the orthopaedics team. The singer sustained multiple limb fractures in the accident and he will be undergoing a series of sequential surgeries.

According to India Today, Rajan's accident occurred around 3 a.m. on Monday. Gajraula police station in-charge, Akhilesh Pradhan, confirmed that the singer's car, an MG Hector, collided with a stationary Eicher Canter from behind.

Including Pawandeep, three others were seriously injured. He was reportedly heading to Delhi from Champawat in Uttarakhand for a programme when this accident happened. The reports suggest that the driver might have fallen asleep, causing the car to lose balance, which led to the accident.

Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami also tweeted about the singer, "Received the news of famous singer Pawandeep Rajan getting injured in a road accident. I pray to God for his speedy recovery.'

Pawandeep hails from Uttarakhand.

Pawandeep emerged as the winner of Indian Idol 12, taking home the winner's trophy, a car, and a cheque of ₹25 lakh.

He competed against five finalists — Arunita Kanjilal, Mohd Danish, Sayli Kamble, Nihal Tauro, and Shanmukha Priya.

In 2021, the singer was announced as as Uttarakhand's Art, Tourism, Culture Brand Ambassador by CM Pushkar Singh Dhami to promote state’s art, culture and tourism.
