‘Let Her Work Speak For Itself’: Karan Johar Pens A Heartfelt Note For Shanaya Kapoor Ahead Of The Release Of Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan

Shanaya Kapoor is finally making her acting debut with the film Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, which is slated to release on July 11, 2025. The movie also stars Vikrant Massey in the lead role, and on Wednesday, Karan Johar took to Instagram to share a heartfelt note for Sanjay Kapoor, Maheep Kapoor, and Shanaya.

The filmmaker wrote, “I have known Sanjay and Maheep for over three decades…. I have seen them in joyous celebrations, in quiet moments, in their lowest hours and beautiful destiny highs… battling storms that have come in their way with a broad smile on their faces and always an impeccable sense of humour … a couple that are deeply loved by everyone who know them…. The centres of their universe has always been their children Shanaya and Jahaan ( fun fact: I have named him ) … They raised them to be the most warm and loving children…. (sic).”

Karan further wrote, “Day after is a day of sunshine for their baby girl…she is an exceptionally hard working girl and has poured her heart and soul into her debut feature… will ofcourse let her work speak for itself and I know it will…. Shine on Shanaya and welcome to the movies (sic).”

Shanaya’s first film was supposed to be Bedhadak, which was produced by Karan Johar and directed by Shashank Khaitan. But, the film was shelved. Later, there were reports that the actress will be seen in Student Of The Year 3, which supposed to be a web series; however, there has been no development about it.

But now, finally, Shanaya is making her debut with Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan. In the trailer of the film, the actress had impressed one and all. So, it will be interesting to see her performance in the movie.
