Bollywood actor Govinda’s son, Yashvardhan Ahuja, was all set to make his debut with the Hindi remake of the 2023 Telugu film Baby, to be directed by Sai Rajesh, who also helmed the original. The film also starred Babil Khan in a lead role. However, the project has now hit a roadblock after Irrfan Khan's son walked out of the film, following a public fallout with Sai Rajesh. The filmmaker had criticised Babil's recent emotional breakdown video that went viral on social media and demanded a public apology.
According to a report in Peeping Moon, the Hindi remake of Baby has been put on hold as the producers are currently looking for a replacement for Khan's role. "The makers spent nearly six months finalising the female lead, a debutante, and now face the daunting task of recasting the male lead. It’s going to take a lot of time. As of now, the production is on hold, with no confirmed timeline for resuming," shared the source.
The Hindi remake of Baby will be produced by Madhu Mantena in association with Allu Aravind’s Geetha Arts and the original Telugu producer, Sreenivasa Kumar Naidu.
Reportedly, Babil Khan was cast in the role originally played by Anand Deverakonda, while Yashvardhan Ahuja was set to reprise Viraj Ashwin's character
Earlier this year, on Yashvardhan’s birthday, director Sai Rajesh shared a heartfelt photo with the debutant on social media, extending his warm wishes. In response, Yashvardhan commented, "Sirrr will make you proud! Ready to give blood, sweat and tears. I know it'll be a beautiful experience on your set and turn your vision into reality!"
An official confirmation from the makers regarding the film's cast and release date is still awaited.
