Irrfan Khan's son, Babil Khan, recently made headlines after a video of him went viral, in which he appeared to have an emotional breakdown on camera while calling out Bollywood for being 'rude' and 'fu*ked up'. He also took digs at actors like Ananya Panday, Shanaya Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Raghav Juyal, and Siddhant Chaturvedi. Following the backlash, Babil deleted his Instagram account, only to return later claiming that his videos were 'extremely misinterpreted' and clarifying that he was, in fact, praising the actors rather than criticising them.
While many in the industry showed support for Babil, director Sai Rajesh criticised him, stating he should issue an apology and adding, "These sympathy games won’t work on us anymore." In response, Babil lashed out, expressing how deeply hurt he was by Sai’s comments and revealing that he had dedicated two years to the role. "I slit my fu*king wrist for him," the actor said emotionally. However, Sai later deleted his critical post. Just days after, Babil announced his exit from the director's film.
On Saturday, Babil issued a statement that read, "With a lot of grit, passion, and mutual respect, Sai Rajesh sir and I both got along on this journey of creating magic together. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances things didn't go ahead as everyone had planned."
He added that he will be taking some time off and hopes to collaborate with Sai again on a project in the future.

Sai also issued a statement saying he respects Babil's decision to prioritise self-care. "Babil is one of the most talented and hardworking actors I have met in my life. However I have to accept this unfortunate reality of the situation," wrote Sai.
