DUSU President And Students Urge Delhi University To Postpone DU Exams Amid India-Pakistan Tensions

DU Exam Postponed 2025 News: Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) president Ronak Khatri has urged the university administration to postpone the upcoming examinations, which are scheduled to begin on May 13.

Highlighting the growing anxiety among students, Khatri noted that many had traveled home during preparatory leave and are now feeling panicked due to the uncertain situation. He mentioned that several parents are advising their children to return home, further contributing to the unrest among students.

In an official communication and a tweet addressed to the Vice Chancellor of Delhi University, he appealed for a delay in exam dates, stating: "Examinations are scheduled to begin from the 13th of May, but the current situation has created anxiety among students and their families. In light of these circumstances, I sincerely urge the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Delhi University to consider postponing the examination dates to ensure the safety and well-being of all students."

To assist students during this period, DUSU has launched two dedicated helpline numbers — 73780 22365 and 62686 85067 — providing support related to accommodation, health concerns, and exam-related queries.

Amid growing concerns over the India-Pakistan tension, students have taken to social media to express their anxiety and appeal for the postponement or online conduct of the upcoming Delhi University exams.

“Please consider postponing or shifting the semester exams online. Many students who returned home during preparatory leave are now unable to travel back to Delhi due to the situation in affected regions,” wrote one user.

“Kindly postpone the exams or conduct them in online mode. Students and their families are under a lot of stress right now,” urged another.

“Our 4th and 6th semester undergraduate exams are set to begin from May 13, but due to the current tension between India and Pakistan, many parents are anxious. I request a delay of at least one week,” a student posted.

“My parents are extremely worried. I’m from Bihar and in my first year. Please either cancel or shift the exams to online mode — it’s not optional, it’s essential now,” said another concerned student.

“Please release a statement regarding the upcoming exams. Many of us went back to our hometowns during prep leave. With several airports shut and flights being cancelled, returning to Delhi has become difficult,” one user highlighted.

“We request the university to consider postponing exams. Most schools and colleges in Delhi have shifted online due to the heightened alert. Students are not mentally ready for offline exams in this climate,” read another appeal.
