CBSE Class 10 Board Exams Twice A Year: The CBSE plans to conduct Class 10 board exams twice a year from 2026. The new guidelines will be made public in draft form and the stakeholders will have till March 9 to give their comments before the policy is finalised.

According to the draft, the exams will be conducted in two phases: from February 17 to March 6 for the first phase, and from May 5 to 20 for the second.
Practical and Internal Assessments to Remain Annual
While the board exams will be held twice a year, practical and internal exams will be conducted once a year, according to the new guidelines. This format is meant to provide students with more flexibility, enabling them to select the session that is most convenient for them, minimising the pressure of a single annual exam.
Ministry of Education Pushes for Stress-Free Learning Environment
The Ministry of Education recently had a meeting with CBSE regarding the plan for the dual board exams, with Union Minister of Education, Dharmendra Pradhan, posting details of the meeting on social media. He stated that CBSE would soon initiate public consultation on the suggested schedule. This is one of the government's larger steps towards making learning less stressful for students.
CBSE to Launch Global Curriculum for Foreign Schools in 2026-27
Also, the Ministry has directed CBSE to start preparing for the introduction of the "Global Curriculum for Foreign Schools" for the 2026-27 academic year. CBSE is expected to develop a detailed action plan for this initiative in the coming academic year.
