Meanwhile, from June 9 to 10, Gwalior, Bhind, Morena, and nearby areas may see heatwave conditions. On Saturday, rainfall was reported in Indore, Narmadapuram, and Barwani, while 13 cities recorded temperatures above 40°C.
The delay in monsoon is due to it being stuck over Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh for the past 10 days. Weather experts say that due to active cyclonic circulation and western disturbances in May, the state saw more rain and storms instead of extreme heat.
In June, similar patterns may continue for a few more days with increased humidity and rising day-night temperatures.
Monsoon is likely to enter MP between June 7 and 10, but hot weather is common before it arrives—especially in Gwalior-Chambal.
Temperatures usually cool down slightly by the end of June, with night temperatures dropping by 8 to 10°C.
