Caught on Cam: Bhopal Govt School Teacher Seen Getting Foot Massage From Class 4 Student, Video Goes Viral

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A government school teacher was spotted getting her foot massaged by a student during school hours, in Madhya Pradesh capital Bhopal.

The incident, which has sparked outrage among residents, is said to have taken place on Thursday. However, the video surfaced on Saturday evening and is doing rounds on social media on Sunday.

According to information, the footage is from Government Mahatma Gandhi Higher Secondary School in Gandhinagar. 

In most classrooms, children were quietly studying after lunch, but noise was coming from Class 4 - the only class where students sit on the floor. 

In the video, the teacher is seen sitting on a chair with one leg resting on another chair, while a student is massaging her foot. Other teachers reportedly said such incidents are not uncommon.

‘Had the foot twisted’

The teacher denied the allegation and in her defence she said that she twisted her foot after stepping into a broken tile pit at the school gate. 

“The students also helped me to a chair and one child tried to reduce my pain by massaging her foot out of affection,” she added.

Complaints from government schools of the state have been common and frequent, either regarding conduct of teachers or about basic facilities like classrooms, benches, and even functional toilets.

Show-cause notice to govt school teacher

Acting on the viral video of a female teacher at a government school getting her feet massaged by a student,the District Education Officer (DEO) of Bhopal has issued a show-cause notice to her.

Additionally, DEO Narendra Ahirwar has asked the principal of the Government Mahatma Gandhi Higher Secondary School, Gandhi Nagar, to conduct an enquiry into the incident. He has also sought a reply from both the teacher and the principal within three days.

Following the uproar, she denied the allegation, claiming that she had twisted her foot in a pit at the school gate. She said that the students helped her to a chair and one of them tried to reduce her pain by massaging her feet out of affection.
