2-Day-Old Baby Found Abandoned In Drain In MP's Umaria; Now Fighting For Life In Hospital
Doctors said the baby’s condition is highly serious.

Umaria (Madhya Pradesh): A 2-day-old baby was found abandoned in a drain in Madhya Pradesh's Umaria on Wednesday.
Locals heard baby's cries and went to check. They were shocked to find the the infant lying in the drain. They rescued the baby and immediately informed the police.
The incident took place near Bada Chhada village, under the Nowrozabad police station area in Umaria district, Madhya Pradesh.
The police arrived at the spot and sent the baby to Nowrozabad hospital using a 108 ambulance.
Doctors there said the baby’s condition is highly serious. The child has now been referred to Pali hospital for better treatment. The baby is still under medical care.
Police are investigating the case to understand how the baby ended up in the drain.
They are looking for people who may have seen someone leaving the child there. So far, no witnesses have come forward.
Police are also checking CCTV footage from nearby roads to find any clues.
This tragic case brings attention to the harsh truth that, in some situations, due to social pressure, poverty, or mental stress, a mother may be forced to abandon her newborn.
