The U.S. Senate on Tuesday narrowly passed President Donald Trump’s ambitious ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’.The 940-page legislation was passed in a 51-50 vote, with Vice President JD Vance casting the tie-breaking vote following a night of intense debate. The bill now returns to the House of Representatives, where a tight vote is also expected.

The bill is now one step away from becoming a law. The final House approval is likely going to take place within days, potentially setting up the President to sign by July 4.

The bill introduces massive changes to tax policy, immigration enforcement, federal benefits, and more. Republicans are lauding the bill and calling it a major milestone of President Trump’s second term. However, Democrats — along with three dissenting Republican senators — have raised concerns, warning that the legislation could hurt vulnerable communities and significantly increase the federal deficit.

SpaceX founder and former advisor to Donald Trump, Elon Musk, has consistently voiced his opposition to the bill.
