Why Twins Marry In Thailand?
Thai Buddhist belive that opposite-sex twins were lovers in their former life and that it is bad luck if the twins are not married off at the earliest opportunity. Failing to do so, their lives will forever be haunted with bad luck from their previous life. It is also believed that if they don’t get married they will develop illnesses or get sick regularly and one of them might die.
The marriage sees the twins take part in a traditional Buddhist wedding ceremony. It follows all the traditions of a regular Thai wedding including offerings of dowries, parades, dancing and a Buddhist monk to chant blessings during the ceremony.
