Imagine stepping into your aircraft and finding a huge dog sitting calmly in a passenger seat, tongue out and looking around sweetly. If you’re scared of dogs, it might be a shock — but for dog lovers, it’s a dream flight.
A large leashed Alaskan Malamute was seen sitting quietly next to a woman, likely its owner on a flight from Beijing to Tokyo, as seen in a now-viral video. One could say that it was behaving better than many human passengers, noting there are several headlines about fights and commotion mid-air.

The video was captured by a passenger who was surprised to see the dog sitting like a regular passenger. The person filmed the doggo as they walked down the aisle. In the clip, the animal posed on camera with its tongue hanging out.
“I was on a plane from Beijing to Tokyo when I saw a giant Alaskan Malamute sitting in a seat", read the overlaid text on the reel.
The clip was recently shared on X by news contributor Oli London, with the caption, “Gigantic dog appears happy as he sits on a seat on a flight from Beijing to Tokyo".
Netizens react as video goes viral
The video quickly went viral with more than 15,000 views, and people loved seeing the dog occupy the passenger seat on the Tokyo-bound flight.
One user said, “I’d pay extra to sit next to this dog rather than a screaming kid".
Another commented, “Awwww cutie. I wish I was sitting next to him".

People also praised the dog’s calm demeanour, calling it a “well-behaved dog".
It didn’t bark, move around, or cause any trouble while it just sat quietly through the flight, as seen in the visuals.
Though the video is trending now, it’s originally from 2019, taken during a flight by China Southern Airlines.
