Auraiya (Uttar Pradesh), July 17: A video of a fierce fight between a snake and a mongoose has surfaced on the internet. The shocking part is that the people have parked their vehicles in the middle of the road to witness the deadly face-off between the two natural enemies. The fierce battle was caught on camera and the video of the fight is doing rounds on social media. It can be seen in the video that both the reptiles are attacking each other violently. The fierce battle has showcased the real and raw side of wild nature.
There are reports that the incident occurred in Uttar Pradesh's Auraiya. The video shows the black cobra standing tall with its hood spread wide, showing that the reptile is ready to strike its enemy. The fearless mongoose then charges towards it with lightning speed. Despite, the cobra's attempt to attack the mongoose and try to defend itself, it struggles to match the lightning speed and the clever tactics of the mongoose.
The mongoose responds faster and evades the deadly strikes from the cobra. The mongoose than lands a direct hit on the hood of the cobra, after which the cobra literally surrenders. The mongoose then drags the snake in the fields on the side of the road. The people present at the spot were able to witness the fight between these two enemies.
In the fight between the mongoose and the cobra, mongoose usually wins, as it is extremely fast and fragile. Another reason is that their reaction time is much quicker than that of the cobra. The mongoose can counter with four quick moves in the same time as the cobra takes to strike twice. The most important is that the mongoose has a natural resistance to the snake's venom, due to which they stay protected to some extent in such fights.
The internet users reacted to the video, mostly pointing out that the people present at the spot witnessing the fierce battle between the animals had no other work. One of the users said, "These antics can only be done by the people of Etawah and Auraiya because they have plenty of time. Everyone gets 24 hours, but these people get 30 hours, that’s why they’ve started making videos at leisure.
