Heavy public outrage has been erupting in Kolhapur over a temple elephant named Madhuri's relocation to Vantara, an Ambani-run animal rescue, care, and rehabilitation centre. The female elephant's relocation has hurt emotions of hundreds of locals deeply. Appealing to the outrage Vantara has issued an official statement and a heartfelt video message for the people from Kolhapur. The video message reflects on the special arrangements being made for the elephant and how Vantara is creating a comforting home for the massive animal.
Taking it to its social media platforms, Vantara shares, "A heartfelt message for the people of Kolhapur! Your love surrounds Madhuri and it shows."
"At Vantara, she’s embracing each day with grace, guided by gentle movement, nourishing meals, expert care, and ongoing therapeutic support. Because they find their truest selves in each other’s company."

Special Video Message From Vantara
In the video which is specially being narrated in the Marathi language, the narrator shared that Vantara provided ample amount of space and time to Madhuri to adapt to the new conditions and place. Doctors and experts also did clinical exam on the basis of which they created a long-term action plan for her. A hydrotherapy has already started for Madhuri which would help her arthritis pain.
The video further shared how the experts have created a customized individual diet plan for Madhuri according to her needs. Vantara experts are trying to bond other elephants at the reservatory with Madhuri and they are hoping her to create her family there.

Earlier, Vantara also shared press release on the heated outrage in Kolhapur. The press release stated, "Vantara holds the deepest respect for the emotions and spiritual sentiments surrounding the revered elephant Mahadevi Madhuri, who was recently relocated from the Jain Mutt Swastishree Jinsen Bhattarak Pattacharya Mahaswami Sansthan, Kolhapur."
The statement further adds, “We recognise that her presence there was more than symbolic — it was sacred to many. We want to clearly and respectfully state that Vantara acted solely in compliance with the binding orders of the Honourable Bombay High Court, which were subsequently upheld by the Honourable Supreme Court of India.”
