Srinagar: Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack, a tweet by a Pakistani citizen has gone viral for its biting remark aimed at their own government. In response to India's suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, the user posted:

“The funniest shit is, there is absolutely nothing India can threaten us with that we aren’t already suffering from at the hands of our govt. Pani rok louge? (You’ll stop our water?) Wese hi nahi aata (It doesn’t come anyway). Maar dou ge? (You’ll kill us?) Humari govt maar hi rahi hai (Our own government is already doing that). Lahore le lou ge? (You’ll take Lahore?) Le lo, adhay ghantay baad khud wapis ker jaoge (Take it, you’ll return it yourself in half an hour).”

The post, which combined humour with harsh political commentary, triggered a storm of reactions from both sides of the border.

Here's How Netizens Reacted:

The tweet drew laughter from some and serious introspection from others. One user said, “Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. The funniest tweet I read today.” Another added, “At this point, it’s better for Pak ppl to hand over these corrupt Generals and their handlers to India and be happy handling their own country.”

However, others balanced the humour with criticism of terrorism, saying, “But that doesn't mean your government can sponsor terrorists. Toll has to be paid.” An Indian user said, “The same conditions are here too… waiting for Sanghi brothers to ask me to go to your country.”

Some Pakistani users also chimed in with calls for peace. Have a look:

India’s Stern Response Post-Pahalgam Attack

The Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 individuals, mostly tourists, has reignited diplomatic and security tensions between the two countries. India responded by suspending the decades-old Indus Waters Treaty, a critical water-sharing agreement, along with tightening visa rules and halting trade routes with Pakistan.

The Indian government has also vowed to hold Pakistan accountable on international platforms, reiterating its position that terror activities allegedly backed by Pakistan’s state machinery will not go unanswered.
